#6 Traditional Family Observances

This being Shabbat (or Shabbas), I don't expect many Jews to be watching this. There is pretty basic material that Jews learn in Hebrew School or if you are traditionally observant "school."

As this is episode 6, I am thankful that I am not doing the 12 Days of Christmas or the 29 or 30 days of Ramadan.

  1. Well, first, I've got to say Go Giants! You are obviously anticipating Spring Training, whittling your shankbone for Passover. The tallit disappears: it's a miracle. The Five books of Krinsky get replaced with portrait of Chariman Don in Christmas hat! Another miracle. Sapphire gin. Good choice. Reminiscent of blue tekhelet and the missing tallit. Drinking hard liquor on Shabbat is all the rage at the hip revival synagogues in S.F. And, of course, nothing says Hannukah and "we love the Jews" better than Heiddegger and Being and Time! Adding three pieces of gelt for shin sounds like the way to go . . . it counteracts the effect of gin and beer. And speaking of beer, is that a Budweiser? I understand there is an old trademark dispute between Bud and Budweis, the german beer dating back to 13th century Bohemia. For you sleuths, there are lots more background changes for you find. What else do we see?

  2. Thank you, Roland. It was actually a Samuel Adams. Nice catch (speaking of baseball) on Heiddegger. The alte kockers get hammered at the more traditonal shuls around here. I am flattered by your observations.

  3. This is truly a brilliant episode. Where did you find those wonderful 89c candles- here in the land of the blue outcasts, I could only find the 9.98 variety which I bought in support ( of what?). Can’t wait for #7
