Mariana were acquainted with an oil on canvas muralist who lived in New Mexico but what commissioned in the 1990s to paint a large bird’s eye of Tulsa for an indoor municipal installation. He presented the clients with a draft based on an aerial photograph. They told him to make the black side of Tulsa much smaller. He was in it for the fee. He said by the time they were done with their comments, black Tulsa was among the disappeared.
Learned a lot about Tulsa this week. Complicated. And bad. Finding out about the center of the universe. Not convinced that Tulsa is the center of the universe. Will advise.
